Hastings HEART
When COVID–19 struck, a small team of community volunteers led by Kim Batty and Alistair Fairley quickly mobilised to set up HEART — Hastings Emergency Action Response Team, a mutual aid group for Hastings and St Leonards on Sea. HEART was set up to support those most in need during the Coronavirus crisis. HEART had already designed a logo typeface, but they required a bold visual identity, website and posters that would capture people’s attention.
The website needed to be intuitive and easy to navigate for people to access the help that they needed quickly, and communicate a clear message about who HEART is in order to raise its profile locally and attract volunteers.
Hastings HEART has grown into a large community across Hastings & St. Leonards with some 1,000 volunteers and over 3,000 members on their Facebook page.
“We needed a website quickly, to establish our brand, gain public trust and start helping people. It was crucial that the website was clear and user-friendly, so that we could help as many people as possible, whether they be internet–savvy or not, we are committed to no–one falling through the net. The website was, and is, our main mechanism for offering help to the Hastings community.
Larking delivered all this and more. At great speed, we had a fantastic website, it was quite gobsmacking.”
— Kim Batty, Co–founder of Hastings HEART
